Name:
Michael
Puniard (Puni)
DOB:
2nd of June 1981
Where
do you live: Gilmore
ACT
How
did you get into bmx:
Got
my first decent bmx and just loved riding round the streets
jumping things, there was dirt jumps up the road from my
house and I used to go there with a few friends from around
the neighbourhood. From there I started riding Tuggeranong
skatepark.
When
did you get into bmx: I
started riding when I was about 11 or 12 but started riding
ramp when I was about 16.
What
do you like to ride: I
like to ride everything but I mainly ride skateparks, dirt
jumping would be the most fun thing to flow on but there
isn’t much dirt around Canberra. Real street is good but
I’m not into real rough landings.
What
motivates you to ride:
My
friends and the great times I have on my bike, learning
something new, pushing myself to do my best at what I love
doing.
What
would you like to achieve with your riding:
Just
to stay on my bike as long as I can and have fun, travel as
much as I can with my bike to ride new places and when
entering comps to place as best I can.
What
do you do besides riding:
When
not riding I like to hang out with my friends and have a few
beers. I love spending time with my girlfriend, listen to
music. I work a lot so that takes up a lot of my time as
well.
Favourite
music:
I
listen to a lot of hip hop but I don’t really like the
mainstream stuff. I can listen to any music and enjoy it as
long as it is not techno or rave type music, I don’t
really like hardcore death metal stuff either.
Favourite
book: I
don’t read books, they don’t interest me.
Favourite
film:
Don’t
have a favourite film, when I was young I liked Boyz in the
hood. I like Top Gun, as of lately I saw meet the Fockers
and thought it was funny. I watched the horror movie Saw and
thought it had a great story line to it.
Do
you like to travel:
I
like to travel as much as I can but it’s hard sometimes
due to work. At the moment I am saving all my money so I can
travel to the worlds in Prague in June then maybe some other
places.
If
you could have one wish, what would it be: To
be always happy no matter what i'm doing or where I am.
If
you could change one thing, what would it be:
I
wouldn’t change anything.
Is
there something you are afraid of, or something you fear:
I’m
scared of really big heights but it also get my adrenalin
going so I also like it.
Do
you live by a certain philosophy: I guess I just try to
be generally happy, smile and don’t get bummed about
things that don’t matter or you can’t change.
Any
last words: Don’t
worry about image or anything negative about bmx as long as
your having fun on your bike that’s all that matters. Ride
on!
Any
thankyou's:
Thanks
to Mike Daly for the opportunity to ride for Proper, all
my close friends in Canberra and all over Australia who
ride, any sponsors that have helped me get where I am today
and my girlfriend for putting up with me and being the
nicest person I know.
