Name:
Tomasz Hantke
DOB:
08/10/1979
Where
do you live: Parra
How did you get into BMX: My cousin Kris,
I used to watch him ride and he taught me the basics,
he was good at all sports.
What
do you like to ride: Flatland and a bit of street, i’ve
been known to destroy a few rails and one nearly destroyed
me.
What
motivates you to ride: Other people seeing how much fun
they have on their bike and where they have taken flatland.
People such as Simon
O’brien, Mike S, Dane Beardsley, Matthias Dondais, Bram
Verhalen, Waldemar Fatkin, Travis Collier just to name drop
a few.
What
would you like to achieve with your riding:
How far can we all go with this? Just ride me bike
till I’m grey and old. Keep
progressing with my tricks is enough, but my main focus is
to try and make more people aware of how rewarding and
positive BMX can be. It caters for a very diverse cross
section of our community now, growing steadily over the
years and gaining respect as a sport that’s cool!
It attracts people of all ages from all walks of
life, each experiencing varying levels of success on and off
the bike. When you
first get on a BMX and hop clean up the gutter, you know
what I’m talking about. Keep
it real fun.
What
do you do besides riding:
DJ - mixing beats, making my own mash-ups.
Favourite
music/ book/ film: Electronic beats, KRAFTWERK they are
gods of the genre, Trente Moller and Sebastien Leger are
“so hot” right now.
Music is very important to me.
Do
you like to travel: Yes,
Tracy and I are planing to eventually live in Europe.
If
you could have one wish, what would it be:
Hover bikes and a million in cash and then on second
thought, world peace, if everyone pulled their finger out.
Hmmm
If
you could change one thing, what would it be:
The way humanity is raping this planet.
Is
there something you are afraid of, or something you fear:
Flat tyres and marshall law.
Do
you live by a certain philosophy:
Karma
Any
last words: If your umm-ing and arh-ing about going for
a ride, just go you’ll never know what trick you will
learn or who you might meet.
Any
thankyous: 2020 bmx mag, Mike Daly and Matt Holmes THANK
YOU, Vinne Pugh and Johnson (Rhys Mason) thanks for putting
up with my shit and accepting me like a brother. Paul and
Ronnie also get an honourable mention all you guys are cool
