received our latest delivery from Mankind Bikes, on this drop we have the
new Cooper frame which looks super nice, these are gonna sell fast so get
in quick on this one. Also new on this delivery are the Prometheus hubs in
5 colours front or rear with left or right 9 tooth drive.
It seems like
silver stainless spokes are making a bit of a comeback so we are now
carrying silver in both plain and double butted in all popular BMX sizes.
We also stocked back up on long black brass nipples with have been out of
stock for a few weeks as well... All our spokes are good quality stainless
steel, we have a stack of colours and sizes available as well as alloy
nipples and Titanium spokes too...

IX bars
Our next
delivery from Proper Bike Co is not far away so heres a sneak look at the
new IX bars. Heres what the guys at Proper had to say about them...
These
bars were made for one of our UK team riders (Shaun Jinks) who wanted some
bars with less backsweep than is currently available. Pretty much every
bar on the market has 10-12 degree backsweep and 1-4 degree upsweep which
is pretty crazy given the massive variations a few short years ago. These
bars have 9 (IX) degree backsweep.
Shaun wanted extra strong bars so we opted for triple butting and a
higher, and thicker than usual, cross bar.

Sash from the shop has this to say about
the bike. "It's a Superstar
frame with Mankind forks and mainly Superstar parts. The whole bike,
including the forks, frame, cranks and chainring have been hand sanded and
polished. The seat was black plastic which is now chrome plated, the rims
are chrome plated Superstar/alex rims. All up it took 50 hours of sanding
til clear coat. It weighs in at
9.5kgs and is getting a lot of attentionin the shop."

Our latest Focale 44
shipment just landed and there's some shiny new bikes and parts on this
delivery... This time around the Relax comes in matt grey, the Noble in
matt black and the frame/fork kits in matt black and a sweet clear red
colour. There's also a new bike called the Revolted, which comes in red
with a BMX style stem and raised bars.
Here's a sneak
peak of the new Proper front hubguard to suit the microlite hub, these
won't be available till the end of the year but we know heaps of riders

Mankind
Code, Mike S signature frame
Part time Aussie Mike Steingraeber
has a new signature frame with mankind bikes. The “Code” will
be available here in a couple of months.
Here is what Mike has to say about it: “I
have been friends with Mankind owner Christoph Huber for well over 20
years, and while a good personal relationship helps, that wasn´t the
reason I wanted to ride for Mankind. What I find so appealing about
Mankind is the quality of their products, their attention to detail and
their nice graphic designs. Christoph let me design my signature frame,
the “Code” the way I wanted it to be, without any limitations. I knew
what I wanted from the start, so it was just a matter of bringing my ideas
to paper, getting a prototype made, which unfortunately took a long time,
and now testing the prototype and showing it around.
There are several key
elements I wanted in my frame:
First of all: strength. My frames have
to take a lot of abuse, and I want them to take it. That´s why I wanted a
without unnecessary bent tubes, and nothing crossed either.
Secondly, I didn´t
want to build a tank, so I opted for butted tubes and tapered chain- and
seatstays. To be able to use thin tubes, I wanted the frame to be fully
heat treated. That means it gets welded first, then the whole thing gets
heat treated, resulting in a very strong structure, including the welds!
Third, the frame had
to be functional! That´s why the down tube is slightly elevated, with
enough attatchment to the bottom bracket shell, so that´s not going to
fall off. The dropouts are on the outside of the seat- and chainstays, so
bike varials will be easier without getting caught up with your feet. The
head angle is 74°, so your bars won´t touch the ground as easily when
doing hitchhikers and backpackers.
And last but not least
I wanted a lot of attention to detail. I opted for machined bottom bracket
shell and head tube with integrated logo, a logo etching in the dropouts,
the nice Mankind bridge between the seatstays and the curved tube/bridge
between the chainstays for added strength. The seattube is outside
machined to save a bit of weight and has an integrated seatclamp. The
stickers are placed where they don´t get scratched instantly when you
ride your bike. I chose not to have brake mounts on the frame, because I
don´t use brakes and it looks like most other riders don´t use rear
brakes, and the frame just looks much cleaner that way.”

Proper delivery
We just received
our latest delivery of Proper Bikes frames and parts. This time around the
TTL frame is
available in grey, raw or metallic blue (which looks awesome), in 20.6",
21", or 21.2" top tube. All the parts are back in stock
including wheels,
rims, hubs, u-brakes and bars (including the 8.75" rise TTxL bars).
New for this order is the microlite chainwheel in 25 or 28 tooth in
stack of colours as well as grips in gum colour and a new grey colour in
all the parts...

The Proper grips now come in solid colours
as well as some translucent colours. New on this delivery are solid

We now have the new rear hubguards for the
Proper ceramic casette hubs, these also fit Simple, Colony and some other
hubs too... They come in 8 colours as well...

We've been hanging
out for these for a while so it's good to see the new Simple rims have
finally arrived. We have both the Plainan (Simple) and the Keypit (Simple)
in stock in 36 hole black, chrome, white, blue, green and purple. The
Plainan has a smooth round finish and the Keypit is more a tech cross lace
design. Both are double wall with extra strengthening ribs and are drilled
on the inside to save weight.

in Brisbane got a local rider called Thomas Dunn to make up bunch of these
hubguards for the Proper microlite front hubs... They simply replace the
cone which slides onto the axle and come in raw silver colour...
We just received a

Deluxe
seats
The new Deluxe seat / post
combo just arrived, they are super light at just under 220g making it one
of the lightest BMX seats on the market. The seat base is made from
reinforced polypropelyne, the post is 6061-T6 aluminium and the seat
surface is made of Kevlar for durability. They come in black, with choice
of white, red, or blue embroidered logo.

The new Proper
microlite stems and female front hubs just came in. The front hubs are
super nice and weigh only 180g, that's got to be one of the lightest front
hubs around. They use a 14mm alloy axle with 3/8 bolts and come in all the
regular Proper colours. The microlite stem is also super nice, made from
7075 alloy and CNC machined into a super light and hollowed out design.

our new shipment of spokes and nipples. We have a stack of new colours and

Plain 14 gauge or 14/15 gauge double butted
stainless spokes in silver, black, white, orange, red, blue or the new ion
gold and gold/purple fade. The ion colours look like anodised or titanium
spokes but are made of regular stainless...
We also have brass nipples in silver or
black and alloy nipples in purple, black, red, blue, gold, orange or
green, all in either regular 12mm or long 16mm...

A big shipment of

Our long awaited
shipment from Proper Bikes just arrived so all the frames, rims, hubs and
parts are heading to your local bike shop right now. Once again this
shipment has pretty much come in and gone straight out so all the best BMX
shops in Aus should be well stocked right now.
New on this shipment is a limited edition
grey colour for all the parts...
Also on this shipment we got our first look
at the new u-brake, these are super nice, CNC machined with a special
sintering process on the brass post bushes to stop vibrations in the brake
arms...
The TTL frame now comes in translucent
black, raw or purple with removable u-brake mounts and cable guides, as
well as gyro tabs and we also have the proclaimer and TTL bars in new
colours too...
Issue 29 of 2020 is the
biggest one yet. 132 pages of home grown BMX goodness. There's big time

We just received a
new shipment of Superstar frames and parts. We have the Light My Fire
and New Deal frames back in stock in all sizes and colours, as well as the
sweet sweeps bars in 7.85" or 8.15" in black, cream or

Elect and Revolte stems in black, blue, silver and a special red limited
edition colour. There's also more U-brakes, regular pimp chainwheels and

The Redbull dirt
pipe went down a couple of weeks ago and i finally got around to posting
some info here... The event was pretty dam crazy and im really stoked on

Auckland
Lynnfield jam
On
the 5th of July 'Bowl-A-Rama' is going to take place at Lynnfield Bowl, Auckland
City in New Zealand. Lynnfield is a super good old school bowl so head down for
a fun mellow event. There's going to be a jam style comp and best trick as well
as free BBQ and all the bowl shredding you can handle.
We just received
a new shipment of stainless steel and Titanium spokes, and alloy
nipples. We have Natural (Ti silver colour),
Rainbow, Blue, Purple and Gold Ti spokes in both 192mm and 184mm, as
well as alloy nipples in black,
red, purple, blue and green, in both regular 12mm and long 16mm.
The Ti spokes weight just 210g for 75 so
that's under 3g per spoke.
A big shipment of
Mankind products arrived this week... We have the new Forward frame, which
looks really nice, its fully heat treated and weights only 4.5lbs. We also
got more Neworld and Asadi P2 frames along with the new Mankind Alive
flatland frame as well.
Parts wise there's Asadi forks in 5
colours, Archangel bars in 2 sizes and 5 colours, new barends, more
chainwheels, new colours in the P2 grips, new coloured BB kits and
headsets, more stems and seat clamps and 2 new seat designs.
Mankind is really stepping up with new
products and everything is looking really good, well done Christoph...
We just received a
big shipment of Proper Bikes stuff so all the rims, hubs, bars, TTL frames
and parts are all back in stock...
There are new colours in most of the parts,

Here's
a sneak pic of the new Superstar hubs that are coming later this year...
They will have a heat treated female crmo axle, synthetic bushing in the
driver and CNC hub body... More info when we get it.
Simple
Weaver frame
UK rider Mitch Yates has a new
signature frame with Simple, the production version will be available in about 6
months so this is the prototype. There's more info on the Ride UK website with a
few detail photos. (please note that the website states that it comes with a Mid
BB, it comes with a Spanish).
We just received a new
shipment of Simple bikes products including the sought after Eject hubs.
Back orders will be going out this week so check your local shop if
you've been waiting for one. We also have the new hubguards for the
eject hubs as well.
The hubguard for the eject hubs comes in black, silver, grey or white
and replaces the origional cone on the hub for a really neat fit. We
also have a plastic version thats super light and slips over the
existing cone...
This shipment also included the new wheel
slammers...
These little gadgets fill the gap between
your axle and drop out, so they work just like a chain tensioner but are
super neat and light. One of the best and "simple"est ideas
i've seen for a while. The slammers come in 14 sizes from 0.5mm to 8mm
so will work with any frame / chain / chainwheel combination. Each
slammer has a different size on each side so theres 7 diferent
combinations available...

peg...

The 2008 Monster BMX Games will be on again at
Sydney Olympic Park over the Australia Day weekend, from 26th - 28th Jan. Mini and vert will be on Sat the 26th January at the

January and dirt will be in the same spot as last year, out the front of the

New Proper hubs
Here's some photos of the inside of
the new Proper ceramic bearing hubs... as you can see the usual 3 small sealed
bearings have been replaced by one big ceramic bush. The ceramic material is
very hard wearing but also runs like a bearing so there's very little friction.
These ceramic bearings will last for ages because the forces coming through from
the chain is spread over a much larger area than with regular bearings...
The drivers are available with 9t or
10t cogs and because the ceramic bush takes up less space the whole driver can
be made smaller, which also saves weight.

New Proper hubs
Here's the lowdown on the new Proper hubs...
The Proper MagTi hubs have been
really popular over the last couple of years but are no longer available. This
is because the price of Titanium has recently doubled, making the cost of the
material too expensive. The current MagLite hub has a similar design to the
MagTi but uses a crmo axle and driver. The weight is a little more at 400g, but
the hub is a lot cheaper than the MagTi was. In November 08 we will have the new
version of the MagLite coming. This hub will have a ceramic driver bearing which
will last a whole lot longer than the regular ball bearings (that almost all
hubs use). This new hub will also be a stack lighter than either the MagLite or
the old MagTi and with the ceramic bearing it will also be one
of the toughest... The price too will be good at under $300 RRP, keep an eye on the website for more info and to find out when the new hubs are
available.
Here's what Carlo from Proper has to
say about the new hubs... "For a while now we have been working on new
bearings for our cassette hubs... We are going to be using a self lubricating
ceramic bearing that will never fail... For now we use cartridge
bearings as everyone else does and they will only take a certain amount of abuse
before they break... Riding has got out of hand now and its time for things to
change... We will be introducing these in all our hubs
towards the end of this year.. (First shipment is expected November 2008) The picture below is a hub we have been
working on and testing for some time.."

Wow, we received
our latest shipment of Superstar and StMartin products on Friday its now
11:30am Monday and all the Superstar frames have gone out. If you are
looking for a Light My Fire or New Deal frame hit up your local shop
FAST to see if they were lucky enough to grab one. Your best bet is
gonna be to try Back Bone BMX in Canberra, Strictly BMX in Melbourne, CM
BMX in Adelaide or Moree bicycles. These guys are about the only shops
that MAY have any frames left...
We have already
ordered our next shipment and will have the 08 LMF and Newdeal frames in
September. There will be more options available in both frames, the LMF
will come in 20.4, 20.8 or 21.2 in black, mate pearl grey or turquoise
and the New Deal will come in 20.7, 21 or 21.4 in black, cream white or
green clear coat. There will also be brakeless versions of both frames
in the same lengths, black only.

I just went to order more
Titanium pegs from Dragonfly and found out that their supplier just put
the price of Ti through the roof (like $300 per peg). So the 20 pairs of
Ti pegs left in stock will be the last I can get, if your after Ti pegs
get your local bike shop to order them quick because after this 20 pairs,
there will be no more...

Issue 24 of 2020 has our first flatland cover
with Simon O'Brien whip hopping on his new signature StMartin frame.
This issue has coverage from the BMX Games in Sydney, X-Air in
Wellington and the HMH Spinal Disorder comp from Beenleigh in Brisbane.

SOUL issue 30
We just received
the new issue of Soul DVD mag. This issue has 89 minutes of footage
from all over Europe including the Rebel
Jam in Berlin, the BMX Masters in Cologne and scene reports from Munich
and Sofia in Bulgaria.
Once again Soul has packed so much footage into this DVD, check it out
and see what’s happening in BMX outside of the USA…

Games 2007 Jan 26th - 28th at Monster skatepark, Homebush
The BMX games
are back on at Monster over Australia day weekend. We will have a stand on
Saturday at the games so you can check out all the new stuff. There will also be
several shops there as well so you can buy anything you need. Check

are also organising a party for the BMX Games, Friday night at the
Lewisham Hotel in Sydney, all are welcome, look out for drink passes at
the BMX Games...
Titanium and regular stainless
steel spokes
We just received our first
shipment of Stainless and Titanium spokes and alloy nipples. We have the
stainless spokes in silver or black and Ti in Natural (Ti colour),
Rainbow, Blue, Purple and Gold. Alloy nipples come in black,
red, purple, blue and green.
The Ti spokes weight just 210g for 75 so
that's under 3g per spoke, regular stainless spokes weigh 390g per 75 or
5.2g each.
We
just received the new Ride BMX dvd flipside which documents the
encounters of four virtually unknown but talented street riders from NYC
as they travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to ride with some of the
best pros in the world. The roles are then reversed when the pros visit
the city to ride street. Street up-and-comers Nigel Sylvester, E-man,
Blackman, and more hit Pro-Town to ride with the likes of Dave Mirra and
Josh Harrington.
Flipside features some of the most
progressive and talented riders in BMX including Dave Mirra, Josh
Harrington, Dave Dillewaard, Mike Spinner, Blackman, Nigel Sylvester,
E-Man and more.

New Proper bike shipment All the new 07 Proper bikes stuff is
available now. The new 07 proclaimer frame is lighter and comes in pearl black,
pearl pink and pearl light blue and the new proclaimer bars come in pearl red,
pearl black or matt light blue. The Maglite hubs now have the option of a one piece
9t driver as well as the regular 10t-14t screw on cogs. The rims now come in
more colours as do the hubs and the new chainwheel is also in stock now. Check

New Superstar stuff We also just received all the new products from Superstar, the Light My Fire
and New Deal frames look great and are almost sold out already. Check you local
bike dealer to see if they got one in, we have more on order already. We also

New StMartin flatland products Also just received all the 2007 StMartin flatland products, 3 new frames

range includes a complete version of the Kater, 2 flatland models and a new

The new issue
features a Simple Bikes roadtrip to Japan, the BMX Masters from Cologne,
a NorCal Scene check, Scene check from Upper Austria, flatground
amsterdam, a bio on Niels Thanild, the Eastpak Transition Tour, contest
from Tallinn, Soul Last Minute Trip, the backyard jam the Rebel Jam from
Berlin and a bio on Ryan Guettler. I don't know how they fit all that in
one DVD but its definitely worth checking out.
